Project overview
This primary school campus was planned around a series of interconnected garden courtyards that serve as outdoor classrooms and informal play environments for students across all age groups. Each classroom pavilion is orientated to maximise northern light while minimising solar heat gain during the warmer months of the academic year.
The design prioritises accessibility, sensory engagement, and flexibility, with demountable partition systems allowing spaces to be reconfigured as the school's pedagogical needs evolve over time.
Robust, tactile materials including rammed earth walls, recycled timber ceilings, and polished concrete floors were chosen to create an environment that feels warm, durable, and genuinely welcoming for young learners.
