Project overview
This private residence occupies a steeply sloping bush block and is designed to sit lightly within the landscape, minimising ground disturbance through a system of slender steel columns that elevate the main living platform above the existing tree canopy. The structure steps down the contours in three distinct terraces that correspond to the home's primary functional zones.
Living areas open fully to the north through a continuous wall of operable glazed panels, dissolving the boundary between interior and the surrounding bushland setting.
Off-grid services including rainwater harvesting, solar power generation, and a passive cooling system integrated into the roofline ensure the residence operates with minimal reliance on external utility infrastructure.
